Super Junior’s popularity is soaring in Japan as seen during the recent concert of the group’s sub-unit K.R.Y. Members Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung, collectively known as K.R.Y., held their Super Junior K.R.Y Special Concert in Japan at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A last Aug. 1. Close to 10,000 fans attended the two performances held in just one day that featured Super Junior’s awesome singers. Super Junior K.R.Y., the first sub-unit created by SM Entertainment, debuted in 2005. The group sings mostly ballads and has been commissioned several times to sing official soundtracks for Korean dramas. SM Entertainment said the trio performed about 20 songs including “Let’s Not Run Into Each Other,” “Spring Day,” “Dreaming Hero,” and “Stop Walking By.” Each of the Super Junior K.R.Y. also did covers of Japanese songs. The trio were also joined by Super Junior members Sungmin and Donghae at the concert. Fans were delighted with the outcome of the concert. Last month, Super Junior released the Japanese version of their new album, “Bonamana,” which peaked at No. 5 on Japan’s Oricon Chart. This is quite a feat considering that the K-pop group has not officially made their debut in the Japanese market. Super Junior will start their third Asia tour this August with a concert at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena on Aug. 14 and 15.
