It has just been announced that Nichkhun and f(x)’s leader Victoria will be We Got Married’s (WGM) newest virtual newlyweds. There were rumors earlier this year that Nichkhun was offered a role on the show and that 2NE1’s Dara or T-ARA’s Eun Jung would be his ‘wife’, but nothing came of it. Victoria is 24 (2/2/1987) and Khun is 23 (6/24/1988) so they are the second couple currently on the show with an older wife/younger husband combination. In fact, Victoria will become the oldest idol on the show edging out Ga In by a couple of months. Victoria and Nichkhun will also be WGM’s first ‘foreign’ couple. Victoria is Chinese, and Nichkhun is Thai/Chinese. I think it will be really interesting for fans to see how Victoria and Khun will live their everyday lives together in Korea being from different ethnic backgrounds. Filming of Victoria and Khun’s episode took place on June 1st in Korea, no news yet on when that episode will air. Filming might be a little hectic for the new couple, Khun is set to leave for the US soon with 2PM who will be the opening act for the first leg of the Wonder Girls‘ US concerts and it was just recently announced that Victoria will be joining the cast of Invincible Youth. Good luck to Victoria and all the hater-ade guaranteed to be coming her way. I’m excited to see this new couple on the show and think that they’ll bring a little more fun and diversity to the it.
